AnalogFolk worked with the US-based fitness center Blink Fitness on a number of different projects. I worked with them primarily as the co-technical lead on the mobile app, with UI development being my main focus.
We developed an app that should add value outside of the gym. It combines content from partners, such as exercise videos, recipes, and health tips, with ways to manage your gym membership, with features such as personal training session purchases. We also implement custom search functionality and content bookmarking options. All of this was tied to the user’s Blink membership id, which meant members would see different features and content depending on their membership level and location, i.e. their “home gym”.
We connected the app with Blink’s backend services to provide the ability to book private sessions with trainers, and other membership addons. Certain features and content of the app was also managed through Contentful, the API-first/headless CMS. Later on we also integrated the ability to sign up for gym memberships directly from the homescreen of the app, which was a feature I was heavily involved in developing.
We worked in an integrated team with Blink, in a strictly agile way, with the goal of a releasable app update at the end of each 2-week sprint. AnalogFolk provided Tech, UX, Design and Data experts, while Blink provided the Scrum Master and Product Owner.
