Guardian Life Insurance Discovery Tool
AnalogFolk worked with Guardian Life (US based insurance company) on a few different projects during a rebranding phase they went through a few years ago – the first being updating their current website to their new branding, and the second being merging a number of their properties and creating a new platform for these.
During the UX and Design phase of the new platform, we designed and developed a widget that would work as an interim solution for what we were planning on doing with the new website – driving users to find specific products based on their “mindset”.
The widget would ask a number of questions and give a few examples, each example weighted towards a particular mindset. Once completed, each mindset would give the user a few products that would match what they said they were looking for.
I built the tool using Preact (lightweight React), to make the JavaScript bundle as small as possible, with the idea that the client would be able to drop it in as a JavaScript widget on a number of their websites. It ran off of a JSON config that could be changed, if needed, for each website, with a different journey through the questions, depending on user choices and the available products.
Furthermore, I was also the technical lead for the prototyping/pre-production phase of the new web platform. The prototype was built using Next.js and Headless Drupal.
